Lighting still not that great at night. 70-80% chance of rain at nite/eve around PBIR

The lighting is really not that bad except for turn 6/7/8/. It will not RAIN, hopefully.

I disagree about the lighting. coming off the front str8 after the chicane entering the first let handed sweeper the lighting is particularly poor, then entering the next right hander the transition lighting is very poor. during the first night event many of us had great difficulty with these turns. spoke to about 10 different advanced drivers who were not happy with the lights. don't mean to be a downer, just giving my 2 cents.

Default Hod @ PBIR

One of the light poles in that area was moved after that first night event to provide better lighting, and I haven't heard anyone complain but don't know how much it has helped.
I'm considering moving the event to a daytime event like we did this past Saturday. I need to hear from people what they would prefer, so pass the word around and let me know.

I can't understand how that track got FIA approval with the pit exit road where it is. You exit pit road directly onto the line of a corner. I've spoken with several professional drivers who have real concerns about the safety of that arrangement. They need to do something with the pit exit before they get all fired up about the lights.

What kind of times are 'vette guys running at PBIR?

I think I saw Chris Ingle do a 1:24 in some T1 results somewhere.

I did a 1:28.7 on 275/315 Kumho XSs, 410whp (heads/cam FRC daily driver) and stock pads (I was not expecting to track the car that day, and yes they were pretty much worthless).

You must be expecting miracles if you think that a street tire is going to give you the same lap times as a race tire. The KUMHO XS is a real good STREET tire and running a 1:28 at PBIR is not a bad time for a street car. Let's not blame a good tire for what maybe the driver left behind.
Some Corvette's are almost in the teens, but not all are in T-1 trim.

Who said anything about expecting a XS to give race-tire lap times, or the driving leaving anything behind? I just wanted to know what sort of times people are running. Obviously a car on street tires and stock pads isn't going to touch a T1 car out there even though its probably faster in a straight line (DAQ said 148 on the back straight).

Though I don't think a 1:28 is very good. The last car I drove there (as in drove it to the track) did a 1:25. I think the car could have done a 1:26 with some real pads, but its hard when you basically only get two laps before the pads are dead and tapered to all hell. XSs typically get greasy too, but this was in the evening so they were ok. I was down in WPB to visit my family and PBIR just happened to be having a test & tune (are they still doing those on Tuesdays?).

Edit: Latest T1 results I found were 1:24s and 1:25s:

The problem with south Florida in the summer is that it rains 8 out of 10 afternoons

I was referring mostly to your comment that the KUMHO'S were worthless.

They moved the test & tune to Wednesday's now, but you can come out on Saturday's with HOD http://www.hookedondriving.com and get more track time and lunch for $290
We get most of our driving done before the rains come around 3 or 4pm

Oh, I was referring to the stock brake pads, not the XSs. I'm rather fond of the XSs.

Can't make this event due to a hole in a piston. I'll definitely get back down there when my car is back up though.

Day time for me. New R888 and Coilovers. need some test time.

I did the first event, a c5 went off on the entrance to the back straight, I guess he did not see the turn. Lights, shawdows play tricks on the mind. I feel like I am going faster at night, the shutes are shorter, etc.
