Does anyone know if the needed improvements ever made to have a safe event there? Any feedback from anyone that has run the track as it is/was?

I seem to remember where someone had mentioned they were going to move the diving wall after the esses back some and get better crash protection at the leading edge of the walls.. never heard anything again..
wish it would make the improvements..

Here is a video (VIO cam with TrackVision overlay) of me driving a '08 ACR Viper on that course:

Its not very quick... More like a test track. The grip level was also very low when I drove it as it was very green (though it wasn't abrasive on tires either), but that could have changed with more use.
And I don't wanna hear any crap about my driving :P I was extremely rusty and didn't realize how badly I was placing the car (mile-long hood, and all that).

Gee, and Ivor was telling me before the pavement was layed that they had a commitment from NASA to run a couple of events a year there.
The price is just way too high for the local Corvette Club to rent it for NCCC autocrossing. Gainesville is a much better deal for low speed events.

I do not know about NASA FL, but my guess is the same. Walls are right on the out side of the track and not safe.
rental fees Too High? that is one of the least expensive tracks to rent not that one wants to go there.

I spoke to Ivor about two weeks ago regarding their rennovations and it seems they'll have the issues corrected soon, most notably the closeness of the walls and lack of run off. Here's hoping we have another track options.
