If they wanted to have a real drag race with a stock street legal vehicle against a jet they should have used one of these:

0-180 in 17.2 seconds. 0-60 in less than 3, the quarter in 10 flat. You have to be quick out of the hole to beat the jet before it kills you with top end.
A 1000 hp twin turbo Ford GT took 20.7 to get to 180.
They never mentioned the fuel load on the plane. It makes a big difference too.
Just an interesting comparison.

The Navy does PR better than USAF, but the Raptor will smoke the Hornet and it doesn't need no stinking catapult.

NAVY gives their pilots a bit more rope when it comes to goofing off compared to AF.
