Caliper retaining spring clips C6Z06
I purchased a set of Cobalt one piece pads for my C6Z06. I've read a few posts about "bending the springs back in order to make them fit but I'm not clear as to where to make the bend. I called Cobalt and spoke with a tech who stated that the spring clips aren't required and when GM gave them the caliper for fitment they didn't come with the clips. He further stated that if you run without them all you will get is a rattle but this will not affect the function of the pad. I just thought I would put this out so that you don't waste your time bending your clips.

For some reason between pad changes, the springs pop back up and I just push them down with a screw driver to get the pad to seat correctly. You don't need them, they are there so the pads don't rattle while not being compresed.

I saw a post by one company that stated you had to use them to keep the one piece pads straight. That's why I questioned it. Why bend them? Just remove them and put them on the side and save for street use.

i ran my car without them with the cobalt 1 piece pads and they vibrated around like a ****, when i have them in my car my z06 cobalt xr1 pads are quiet as a mouse on the track.
i want to get rid of them but also dont want everyone at the track thinking my pads are done for and askign me to check my pads
