Default Mosport July 27, 28 - space available. 2 days, $299

Time to make sauerkraut!

The Genesee Valley BMW Club is hosting a two day event at Mosport International Raceway. Perhaps it is a sign of the times, but sign-ups have been slow. The event has opened up to those outside the club. The cost is $299 for two days.

A few of our Canadian friends have expressed interest in going...anyone else?

Host Hotel: Holiday Inn Oshawa
1011 Bloor E
Oshawa, ON L1H, Canada
(905) 576-5101

I have no affiliation with the BMW Club other than being an instructor for them.

If you are interested, sign-up information is available at: Driving Events

Is that on the Big Track (Grand Prix) or the Driver Development Track (DDT)?

The event link has been updated. Apparently the host hotel rate has extended the promotional rate...from the new event page

"For room reservations, call the hotel directly and use our group code, “GVB” (yes, that’s correct – GVB) for special pricing of $99 CDN per night which includes continental breakfast."

Will there be solo run groups or will everybody start and end with an instructor?

How do you think they would feel about full Corvette TTR/SU race cars participating?

Novices will have an instructor for most sessions. If you are a novice you should take advantage of all the instructing you can get your hands on, as long as it is good. Solid intermediates will get soloed after a checkout ride.

I believe the advanced students will be running with the instructors at this event.

There are new passing rules in place this year: "This year we have introduced a completely new set of passing rules for GVC driver’s schools. Students are allowed to pass on any straight, and are encouraged to take late passes going into a corner. Point-byes are mandatory in all cases."

As far as race cars go, all they ask is that you play nice with the other kids. If you are running an open exhaust, ensure that the track does not impose db restrictions.
