Official NASA Nat's Info - Pfadt Racing to Offer $20,000 in Rewards at NASA Nationals
RICHMOND, CA-May 28, 2009. The National Auto Sport Association (NASA) is pleased to announce that Pfadt Race Engineering will offer nearly $20,000 in gift certificate rewards to the top finishers at the 4th annual NASA Championship event at Miller Motorsports Park on September 10-13th, 2009.
The 2008 NASA National Competition was an impressive event for Pfadt Team Members. Pfadt Corvettes won podium finishes in ST-1, ST-2, TTU, TTS, and TTA confirming our belief that our line of suspension products gives our team members the competitive edge. We are excited to continue our support of Corvette racing at this year’s event and expect great results from all of our Pfadt Race Team members.
The award program will apply to all Corvette competitors competing in a Corvette at the NASA Championship event. Any competitor that scores points racing a Corvette during the weekend will be eligible for at least $50 in Pfadt Cash regardless of finishing position which can be used for any products or consumables on the Pfadt website.
The contingency program will award drivers a “Pfadt cash” gift certificate in the amounts of $500 for first place, $300 for second place, and $200 for third place if there are five or more starters in their class. Applicants must be a registered member of the Pfadt Racing Team prior to competing for contingency rewards. Joining the team is easy and details are available by visiting www.pfadtracing.com or by calling 888-972-2464.
We're huge supporters of the racing and enthusiast community and our contingency program is just one way we give back to the grassroots racer. Even if you don't race, consider coming out to watch the National competition at Miller Motorsports Park in Utah.

Ok guys, who's coming? We hauled all the way to Mid-Ohio last year, so lets see some of you come out our way!
We're interested in organizing a social event - maybe Friday evening - at the track with dinner and beers and we'd like to get an idea of how many Corvettes we'll have. Families and crew are welcome, we just need an official RSVP!
Also let us know if we can help organize car shipments, storage, or other needs.
We're hoping to have our C6 ready and the more competition the better.

Miller (or maybe NASA) made it too difficult for us to get a block of garages this year. We have reserved a couple for our cars, but I suggest that you pair up with others and reserve some. It will be important to stay out of the sun. The details on garage rentals are available through the NASA website.

Thanks for supporting our racing!
I would be there guys if it wasn't for the Corvette in pieces at Shirl's. I'm sure going to miss it! Many ACR guys going, but I only had 1 race before the incident in February.

Video of Miller
Hey guys! Nationals are getting close and I have been hearing from all of my Corvette friends from around the country. They are all making plans to come out to try their luck in the desert.
This week alone I heard from Danny Popp, John Bianchi, Mike Zinna, Bobby Fischer, Ron Farmer and a few others I'm sure I am forgetting right now. I think there is going to be an awesome field of TTx and STx cars out here.
We are getting our new C6Z racer ready to try to defend our Championship in ST1. I had it out for it's maiden race last weekend with MPRA (Miller Park Race Association) on the 'Outer Loop' configuration of the Miller track. That is the exact configuration that we will be running at Nationals.
Below is some video of the first 4 laps of the race.
Some background on the cars you see. The yellow Corvette belongs to George Smith, a local racer and contender for ST1 this year. He ran a 1:59.xx in this race, so that gives you an idea where ST1 cars will need to be. The two 996 Porsche's are above average for 996 cars in terms of prep. The one is in RSR trim and both are faster than production 997 Cup cars. The faster of the two qualified at a 1:55.xx. The EVO is driven by a local Pro and is obviously fast and aggressive. I make a decision to get away from him in the beginning of the race to work on getting used to the car. It was it's first race, I didn't want to tangle it up already. He has a wild spin next to me at the end of the front straight just before the end of the video.
I put down a 2:04.xx in the race, clearly not Nationals contending yet. The Z right now is completely stock except for cage and Pfadt suspension. I even have the stock exhaust manifolds, cats and mufflers on the car. This car does not have so much as a tune or aftermarket air intake.
The brakes eventually failed in dramatic fashion and took me out of the race. I felt them going so I was able to keep the car on the tarmac and bring it in safely. You can hear them on in the video.
Here are some other cool photos from the weekend.
The calipers overheated so much that the pins backed out and I eventually lost a couple of those little 'padlets'.
Our car in front of our garage before the race
On grid
JR and George on grid
George's car in the paddock with Josh, JR and I standing behind it
JR's car in the paddock with Jordan inspecting the wheel
Here is the video you have been actually looking for! Enjoy
