Default Possible to adapt 89-96 Coilovers for use on 85?

I know for some coilovers cheap! Custom made in the UK but only for 89-96 models only.. would it be possible to addapt them/the car for them to fit? And if so whats involved?

Only if you use a narrow bodied shock.

The earlier car's spring towers are narrower.
