I am more curious if any of our members were there that track day, would have to think there were, then we could hear a real impression heh.

Unfortunately those are the new 2010 STOCK taillights. hate them and the way they slant towards the front of the car.

You have obviously never been to an all Corvette track day. Some of those guys could have been driving a Pinto...station wagon.

I thought I read the 427R meant the hp.

435 hp/400 ft lb, similar to an LS6/LS2/LS3. Only the 4.6L takes up 40% more space, weighs a bunch more, and uses probably 2x as many internal parts

Dunno if you've ever seen a 4.6L or 5.4L up close, but they are huge. And very high cg with those tall/wide cam filled heads.

That would make sense. It's a shame they don't put six-speed manuals in their cars.

From the Roush website:
Based on the acclaimed ROUSH Stage 3 Mustang, this version is slightly less in content but includes 100 percent of the fun factor. The 427R horsepower package is highlighted by the intercooled ROUSHcharger* system which adds 135 horsepower and 65 lb-ft of torque to the base Ford 4.6L, 3-valve V8 powertrain system. The additional power upgrade comes via a ROUSH-engineered ECM calibration which has been specially-tuned to work in harmony with the different exhaust system used on the vehicle. The resulting total power rating for this vehicle is 435hp and 400 lb-ft of torque.

Yeah I don't know what they were thinking with those tail lights, and I own a Mustang. The fit and finish on the 2010's are better, but the styling I'm not so fond of. Definitely doesn't want to make me sell my '07.

The other thing is I don't understand why everyone wants to compare Mustangs and Corvettes .... I mean they are not even aimed at the same market . I like the Mustang ... its a fun car with plenty of pep and can even seat 4 adults now (for short trips), but its not a C6 by any means. I just don't get it.

I think this is done simply because there is no other comparable american made car up until recently. Even now, I feel like the new Camaro and Challenger aren't a good comparison for a Mustang. The new Genesis coupe is closer. The Camaro and Challenger are too heavy to compete in the way I would like them to.
