Which Brand Shifter Do You Prefer?
I am in the market for a shifter for my HPDE car and would appreciate your input. I have a Kirban in my street car and it feels good, but I am open to opinions since I have not used anything else.

I have had the MTI Six Shooter in mine for the last few months. It's a little notchy for my taste and rattles considerably.
Sounds like the MGW tends to be the unanimous winner of most C5 and C6 owners hearts. I think I will be making the switch in the very near future.

I have the MGW which is very precise. I never miss a shift (used to have problems with 3rd). But I will say that its precision comes at the cost of being very notchy.

I have the B&M Ripper in my FRC. Its ok, no real complaints but I have missed a shift a few times. Not as precise as the MGW.
I have the MGW in my Mustang and love it, very precise, very well built. I found the notchiness was greatly reduced over time, it has about 15K on it now and is pretty smooth.

I simply cut off the large barrel with the rubber in it and welded the top to the bottom. Feels great. I hate short shifters. Personally, I'd rather have a tall shifter with a long throw.

I tried the BPP shifter for a couple of years and then went back to the stock C5 shifter. The stock one is much easier to shift and makes much less noise than the BPP shifter. My wife tried driving the car with the BPP shifter and only drove it a couple of miles before saying she hated how it shifted and told me to take over.

What about the "new short shifter" from LG? Anybody tried this yet?

On the C6Z shifter, I assume it is a shorter throw than the C5? Other pros/cons? Price?

I had the MTI shifter on my C6 and liked it so much that when I bought the C5 it was the first thing I did to the car. It did rattle a bit at high RPM on the C6, but is very quiet on the C5. I understand they have made improvements.

I also tried the BPP. It sucked, and was out of the car in a week. I've driven a 98 vert with the B&M and didn't like it either. I don't want short, I want precise.
That seems to be impossible to find. I think I'll have to make my own.

I tried the B&M Ripper. For drag racing it was good, but way to notchy and not as smooth as the stocker for roadcourse tracks. I took it out, put the stocker back in and have been happy since (4yrs ago)
