Default Helmet trim glue??

so between having a new paint job, and having radio's mounted, the trim on the bottom of my helmets always falls off. Anybody know that they use??? Feels like it's probably from a hot glue gun.

Any suggestions?

I've been told motorcycle helmets use hot glue. My guess is that your guess is correct.

I have always had good luck with Barge Cement. It is a contact glue that you put on both surfaces, wait until they are no longer tacky, then place them together.
My original source was our local saddle maker. He used it for leather to leather. I have used it for auto trim pieces that have come loose and for shoe repair, rubber to leather or cloth.
If you can't find an outlet for it, let me know and I'll send you a tube.
I buy mine at our lumber yard/ hardware store in the glue section with the Gorilla glue, J B Weld and so on.

thanks. My problem with the hot-glue is that it is very hard when it cools. Once it loses it's mechanical grip, it just leave the hard residue behind. The Barge cement sounds worth trying. Looks like it's readily available online if I can't find it locally.

Thanks again!

Dave, I think any good contact cement will work fine. You can buy either spay on and brush on. Just my .02 JD
