OK, so what were you thinking????
That just looks like a brain dead moment. Most of us aren't, so there must have been some rational thinking involved.
Or were you just trying out the latest cold air "snorkel" mod?
Interesting picture, thanks for sharing.

I'm saving this picture. The next time I do something bone-headed at home and my other half asks me "what the heck were you thinking"?
I can whip out this picture and say "it could be worse honey"

Safety Car
This was the second time I passed through that water. It was the only way into and out of the autox track that day after heavy rains the night before. About 40 Corvettes passed through that water all without problem. You can't be a pu$$y if you want to race. Interestingly, I don't think anyone skipped the event because of the required river crossing. We all forged ahead. I thought you guys had more testicular fortitude.

OMG! My wife hydrolocked my C5 in way less water than that! I had the Donaldson Blackwing though, so maybe that had something to do with it since it has a lower positioning of the air filter... but holy crap.... you are NUTZ for attempting that!!!!!!!! Period!

Safety Car
My car was a DRM head and cam car at that point. It did have a Blackwing. I know of a Blackwing vendor that used that pic in its ads to show why it was safer than a bottom breather. Like I said, at least 40 Vettes made that crossing that day all without incident. The pic was taken on the way out from the autox. The water had receded some from the crossing we all made that morning. In Minnesota, adverse weather conditions happen all the time. We adapt.
