Default C4 Auto-X'ers with 315s in Front: Rocks in wheels???

I ran a square 315 setup and LOVED it this weekend, problem is, the first day I ran 275s, no issues. Day 2, I ran the 315s up front on basically the same course, I had a rock get stuck between the caliper and wheel on BOTH SIDES! Scraping the inside of the rim and pulling out a groove in the aluminum!!!

The wheels are fine, and like I said, I LOVE it. Was this just a freaky day or do I need to remove the fender liners or something to help prevent rocks from getting stuck in there!

P.S. The wheels are repro zr1's and have decent clearance with the C5 calipers I added (it was a pretty decent sized rock, but it happened on both sides!) The car was pretty clean that day only getting dirty from coning, not from going off course.

I've run 315s up front for three years now. With both ZR1 knockoffs and CCWs and I've never had that. I just changed to C5 brakes this past winter so maybe it will happen after a while with those.

315's all around, GS brakes. Never had that problem. Had a rock hit me in the face earlier this year, though.

335's all around

No rock issues, and I drive to events.

Hmm, good to hear I guess. It sounds like it was just a freak occurrence, I guess the car was paying me back for leaving her dormant for 2 years. I knew I'd be rusty, I didn't expect weird stuff like that to happen though.

Thanks for the replies
