87 Ragtop and I went up to watch one of the forum folk yesterday.

Took a few pictures that I thought I'd share.

Glad he is OK physically at least.

His first time running at Mid Ohio. Said it was slicker than snot in some places.

Think he said he was 2 seconds off the best time in his group.

Wow that was a nasty one!! From the starting pics it seemed that he would just bounce off the tire wall tail end first. Then in later pics it looked like that he had saved it. What happened to make it roll ? Is there a dip going down off the side of the track in that area ??

Just my guess but....

In the last picture when it looks fairly straight I think the rear end was sliding back toward the center of the track. By then he had scrubbed off enough speed that luckily the tires regained traction, sadly he was aimed at the tire wall.

To me it looks like left front hit the tire wall and may have climbed the tire stack enough that combined with the sideways motion just rolled it slowly over.

The driver said while he was sitting up on edge he just kept thinking "Please don't flip, please don't flip, please don't flip, aw S%#^"

The really bad part is when looking through the view finder I really didn't see what was happening. I didn't see the entire series of shots until I uploaded them the to PC that night.
