Tow hook on FRC or coupe (no screens)
Hey Guys--
Finishing up reinstalling my Phoenix front tow hook on the replacement '99FRC racecar. On the Z06, the inserted grille screens would flex enough that you could just slip the hook over the top of the screen, between it and the cutout in the fascia. With a coupe or FRC, you have the black plastic "scoops" instead of the screens, and they are significantly more substantial and don't really providing to a way to go over them. Have any of you guys installed on a coupe or FRC and have any suggestions?
Thanks,
Fred

Thanks, but as I said, the FRC has no screens. It only has molded, black plastic scoops (where the fog lights mount on some cars). What I've done so far is cut a "window" in the plastic along the top edge of this scoop, and I'm going to try slipping the hook thru it. We'll see if that works...

Hey Jeff! LOL...I couldn't imagine how many pounds of rubber I'd collect w/o anything in the scoops at all! Of course, I suppose you could buy Z06 screens, but the above plan that I mentioned worked for me-- I cut a "window" in the top of the plastic scoop about 3.5" x 1". Will try to post up some pics for future reference when I can.
Thx,
FT
