Specific Tire Question
Yeah I know another question on tires but I have read just about every tire thread I could on here. I have to get new tires since thankfully the runflats are shot. I had it narrowed down to
Nitto NT05 255/40/17 front and 285/25/18 rear on stock thin spokes. Price is about $850 mounted on stock thin spokes
but I was worried about the thin spokes cracking so I am thinking about this
http://forums.corvetteforum.com/c5-p...s-w-tires.html
Date codes for these
EJ5N JAD 2706 for the rears
EJ5N JAD 1205 on the front
I have done one HPDE at Road Atlanta. I will most likely be doing HPDE at Roebling in October and Road Atlanta in November/December and a few more events next year. Some daily driving but this is not my only car.
Any opinions?

As for tires, I don't have experience with Nittos, but if you are looking for a better all-around tire than a runflat, I'd suggest Michelin Pilot Sports or Cups.

In that case, if you intend to track the car, I would not use those rims for that. There are plenty of threads discussing the pros and cons of using reproduction and/or Chinese made rims in the forums.
As for my own experiences, I've seen a repro rim completely buckle under straight line braking from around 140-150 MPH at Mosport on a friend's car. Needless to say, he went off horribly and his C6 Z06 was written off (he was lucky to escape without serious injury).
Not to scare you, but really, tracking the car (even if you think you aren't pushing that hard) places enormous stresses on your equipment that regular street driving simply cannot produce. At the very least, stick with an OEM wheel, or stronger, for the track.
