It taps into the OBD-II and displays selected information. I can't wait for them to do this for the Android platform. I hope they will. I love technology.

whats it called?!?!

I remember reading someplace that the 02 sensors on a car are no where near sensitive enough to use as tuning aids (narrow band.. vs the wide band used on dynos..etc..)..

is that correct?

Narrow bands have a very narrow AF range where they are accurate, i.e. they don't have a linear response outside of that range. And the accurate range is right around 14.7:1. A wide band has a linear response all the way, thus "wide band."

Now if they'd just set it up so we can use it to purge our ABS systems...

ETA: Looks like the box you plug into the OBD-2 port also hooks up to their wideband setup so you can log an accurate AFR. Pretty neat little gizmo, especially for $150.

The iPhones are great. I've had one for about a year now...super, super stuff!!!!

It also has another App that you can download called Trapster...tells you where the cops are as you drive. Great!

I have a G1 google phone and they are way behind in applications like this. Hopefully they will catch up. wtknght1, I actually downloaded Trapster for the G1 last week. It looks like a cool app. I'm not cool with AT&T and Apple's control of things but the iPhone sure has a lot of apps.

Yeah, they just keep coming out with stuff...impossible to keep up! ha ha The only thing it does't currently have is the ability to record and send video. You also can't send pics yet...but it's supposedly coming soon. I think the iPhone-S can send MMS pics...but not sure.

Nope, the 3GS can't do MMS or tethering either. The capability is there with the 3.0 update on a 3G, or a 3GS, but AT&T #@$@#@#% sucks, and won't turn that on.

You can tether in Europe with your iPhone... But the prices! I just about fell out of my chair.

This is a cool thing, and reminds me of the old Palm systems and software we used to use for OBDI cars. Vastly updated of course, but very cool.

That is too cool. I really wish they would port this to the G1. Sooner or later I think someone will make an app for us google users.

With Iphone 3GS you can record videos, edit videos, and email them or put them on youtube... all directly from the phone! No PC required.

You can email pictures too.

The 3GS can do tethering with a small patch(not jail broken). I am using it as are many others. They are reportedly going to kill this work around in 3.1 release of the iphone software... but it works awesome and is quite fast.
