Toe help using DIY shim alignment.
quick question. Here in post 9 http://forums.corvetteforum.com/auto...-question.html
he mentions removing 3 shims front 2 shims rear of the control arm to achieve another -1.5 degrees camber, he then mentions tightening the tie rod 9 flats to reset the toe to the pre de-shimed values with 1 tie rod flat equaling 1/32 of an inch.
i have 0 toe front and rear right now and if i de-shimed the same amount he did but want to achieve 1/8" toe out in front and 1/8" toe in rear.
so my question is instead of tightening 9 flats in the front to reset toe i would only tighten 7.5? and is that 7.5 flats per side i.e 15 turns total front.? and for the rear if im only removing 1 shim based on my same math i would only turn 4.5 flats per side to achieve 1/8" toe in. or am i way off. thanks
hope this makes sense.
