Default 1/4 mile race 86 vette vs 95 camry

Didnt know where to post this but i just want to see what you guys think. I think he is a complete idiot, but i dont know?

Ok my car, 86 with aluminum heads. Z51 handling, 4+3 speed trans, with the dana 44 rear with i think a 3:07 rear gear, it has flowmasters with 3 cats still (but not for long). 100,7xx

his car

95 camry, V6, 4 door, 155,xxx miles, cold air intake, auto trans

also reason why he thinks he will win is bc his car is newer and he thinks he got 200hp. Where i would guess mabey 135 at the wheels.

I think i will kill him and was going to bet money. Good or bad deal?

thanks
kevin

Ya sorry for posting here. I dont think this guy has a chance against me and iv only took my car up to 4500 rpms and moves pretty good. A buddy of mine raced him in a 03 bmw 325i and beat him by 4 or 5 car lenghts.

He's going to be buying the beer. He's got 188hp (if he's got the 3.0L) at the flywheel and you've got 230, stock. Not sure about weight, but you're probably close. Assuming he's also got the 5-speed, and you're both competent with the stick, you're gonna win. I had an '88 Z51 with the 4+3 myself, BTW. Your car should be in the 6.0 range. I have a 2000 328i and it is quick, but in the 6.5 sec 0-60 range. So if he's been bested by a comperable car . . . You will do this on a track, right?

Better in the 1/8

L98's have a lot of torque down low.

I think you will wipe the floor w/him assuming you have cared for the engine and there's no big issues w/ your drivetrain. His engine has many more miles and engines get tired.

Depending on how many careful miles were put on the car that could be a bad thing. Three years ago a friend of mine bought an 87 garage queen that had never been driven hard. He gutted the car put a cage in it and took it to Watkins Glen to see how it would do. It made 3 laps before the engine destroyed itself in the esses. He never really got it up to speed but the speed he attained was probably more than the car had ever seen in its previous 50K miles and the engine couldn't handle the revs.

and in a week it will be destroyed...

How about learn how to drive the car before you go drive recklessly on the street. Why the hell do you care about racing 95 camrys? I know that avatar from thirdgen.org. You were always asking about racing anything and everybody in the Street Racing forum. Grow up already.
