Default World Challenge GT Race from Autobahn televised on Speed Channel today 1:00 pm CST

Hey gang,

Set your TIVO/DVRs.

Today at 1:00 pm Central Standard Time the replay of the Speed World Challenge GT Race will be shown on Speed Channel. This was the first time the race was held at my home track, Autobahn Country Club.

Fellow Corvette driver Brian Kubinski found his way to the podium with Pobst and Davis.

This race will also showcase the 7 figure plus McLaren. It's sound is quite distinctive, you'd think it's a jet.

With the 20+ cameras they had on site, there will be some great coverage provided.

Watching it now. That SLR is something else...

Hope they don't cut the race short, they are only on lap 6 with a caution, but there are only 20 mins left airing time.

Now if Speed would replace that idiot announcer Tom Hnatiw I could turn off the mute button.

Ha, Pilgrim did a great job capturing the garage on TV with his in-car cam after the spin. He told me I owe him one now!

Thanks for the post...got the wife to record it for me and watched it last night. That's the first one i've seen this year and all i can say is that it was pathetic. Aside from getting some "shots" of the cars it wasn't true race coverage, more like a highlights reel. I could care less about who announces but the sound was muted so you couldn't really hear the cars.

It's too bad as that looked like a very interesting field. In the past i looked forward to each broadcast like an event, not anymore. I think i could care less. Besides F1, Speed doesn't have much to offer anymore. And it's really too bad because its now in HD.

That's a real bummer. I've been deleting these without watching them, but the comments above yours piqued my interest again. But apparently my (previously) favorite series is still not worth watching.

I do disagree with you here, though. I think the coverage of the ALMS, Grand Am, and GA Koni races is top notch. However, I fear with every passing race that the time will come when they can't show the whole 3 hour event. I'm praying that it doesn't become like the rotten coverage on NBC of the Mid-Ohio ALMS race...huge sections chopped out with no coverage of what happened during the missing laps.

Tom,

Pilgrims car cam......

You can see in the pic below Brian Kubinski's #12 Corvette who eventually found his way to the podium after holding Pilgrim off the last 4 laps.

Pilgrim still finished 4th after re-entering dead last after the spin, incredible.

The DVR TV guide said it was World Challenge GT allocated for the hour. They ended up showing Touring first and I thought we were never going to see GT. Not the best communication.

...and no replay? 1pm during the week? Don't they know we all have jobs?

I agree they didn't showcase the true sound of the cars. The McLaren was unreal and the Vettes sounded great.

I don't believe there will be a replay, but I hope I'm wrong. There were a lot of different brands in the race and despite the edited coverage, they were cool to see.

As far as Full Track, I am going to try to be there.
