Awesome track, AMAZING track for Vettes, should be a fun race. Rd America was a completely waste of time, and NOT just because I'm a Vette guy.

11 Dodge Viper 1:19.782
21 Panoz 1:19.899
44 Porsche GT3 RSR 1:19.951

Oliver Gavin Says

"We had one practice session today at 4.30pm (no idea why so late...) and the weather was very cool. Tried 2 different compounds of tyre and we ran through some set up changes. We ended up 2nd 2 tenths behind the Ferrari and the sister car was 6th (I ...think) about 1/2 second back. Very close as always in GT2... Tomorrow looks like rain, a lot of it... Dry Sunday we hope."

You really have to give the Rahal team a lot of credit. Lou G was pitted next to them at Sebring. They couldn't even get one of the cars started when the race started. The cars were dead slow.

On the other hand they were spending cubic money. The had more photographers on the team than Lou had crew members. They even had their own massuse. When a driver came in he would get a full body massage.

I guess it's the old adage - money buys speed. I'm sure they still have those beautiful white fire suits but now they're fast. It's going to get interesting by the end of the year.

Yes, they do deserve recognition for pushing the program forward. But they were also granted restrictor breaks after Long Beach (#09-11 Here). They will probably be getting some of that reduced considering their performance level now, at least one would think.

I kind of doubt it. They are fast, but not so significantly fast that others can't beat them. Just look how close all of those qualifying times are.

It's incredible to actually see the Vettes racing against other teams for a change, the battle with the Ferrari is great to watch.

What a race!

A TON of lead changes! A lot of action in the first 45min of the race with both BMW's having problems and the #45 Lizard running into the back of a BMW. Then the #4 leading for a long while then he got pushed off the track by a P2 car.

AND what a battle with the Ferrari!

Corvette Wins 1st and 3rd

and Johnny O takes his 7th win at Mosport
