Default Anyone drive A6s to the track?

Anyone drive A6s to the track? Dry sunny day, 20 miles, clean roads. I'm thinking they should deal with it just fine...

I drive 70 miles each way on A6's. Don't worry about it. Drive on them.

probably, but A6's really fall off with heat cycles, not wear. I'd keep hc's off them if you can

You'll eventually get caught in the rain.

I drive 8 miles each way. It's back roads I drive at 35 mph or less -so even in a bad rain storm I make it home with no trouble.

My worry would not be caught in the rain (although that could be a problem), or heat cycles, but punctures.

I have had to drive my car to the dealer with R6's maybe 3x in the past few years and 2 out of 3 times, I got punctures. Mabye just bad luck or they are prone to punctures on the street.

Do they get warm enough with very mild highway driving to even count as a heat cycle?

If you can get them hot enough to heat cycle on the street, you are probably going doing something very unusual.

My rear V710's (similar to A6) probably have 2,000 highway miles on them. Road America is 180 miles each way, GingerMan is 140 and Blackhawk is 90. They were used tires when I got them in 2007. I managed FTD at Autobahn in July, so they can't be all that bad.

Hauling fronts and changing at the track makes getting caught in the rain a less of a white knuckle ride home. Damp pavement is OK at 70, but as soon as puddle start forming on the pavement it is time to pull off and wait.

My friend runs A6's and does the same thing.

Just another opinion.
