The good part is that the safety equipment doesn't count against car cost.

This is going to start to get expensive. Brakes, tires and wheels are outside the budget constraints? What will people want next?

when you total up building a *safe* car (proper cage, padding, seat/brace/belts, etc) prepping it with decent brakes, fluids, decent tires (best 200 treadwear you can find), spares, fuel for tow vehicles and race car, getting 5 team members and families there, grilling out, etc. it ain't no $500 race car event about X10 that

we'll be forced to do 1 or 2 more of these just so we can spread out some of that initial cost over the next ones

it is fun though, the race pace/intensity is much more than I imagined. you can put a car in places you never imagined possible when you don't care about it

For anyone that's been to Sebring for the 12 hour race....the "24 hours of LeMons" event at kershaw was very similar to the "Green Park", except it continued out on to the track

True, but I know a fella that has put in a new motor and a transmission in his.... " $500.00" .....car. And that cost a tad more than $500.00.

He has run a bunch of races and that $500 dollar things seems to be ... well

I do remember as a KID watching " modifieds" race through the DEADLY X at Riverside speedway [ that's Riverside Park Springfield Ma].

Went to the Demo Derby's as well.

Seems all that is old is new again. Can't wait for the intersection thing to come back!!
