Got third hand info there was another crash in T1 today at Road America.......anyone have definitive information? I know Buttermore destroyed his car yesterday........I don't want to repeat the information I have at this time about todays incident without any confirmation......
I also heard Knupp lost a wheel and Pintaric went off but both are ok...not sure about the cars.......

I have another source that has confirmed that a T1 driver has been life flighted out of RA after contact with a concrete barrier. I won't post any details of the incident as I have them and I don't have any information as to the drivers status at this time. Am hoping this is just a precautionary measure..........
Please say your prayers for him........

JB crashed after Canada corner between 12 and 13 in the wet yesterday.......no mechanical or other contact. Said he just lost it. I hear Joe A is shipping a C6 out to him (rumor) Could be AJ's car? That wouldn't suck!! I also heard he might be using a Tracy C5 but noticed he did not have a Q time this morning.

Just got this off of sccaforums... looks like it was Mike Tracy Jr. Just hope he is ok, doesn't sound good though.

I think Road America is the best track on the planet, but it does seem to have more crashes/red flags than any other track I regularly go to. I don't really know why, it just seems to work out that way.
We paddock at start/finish usually, and end up with a really good view of the life flight helicopter every time it comes in.

You are correct, Sir. Last post removed as there are two stories being reported and neither has been confirmed. How this happened is irrelevant.

very fast, lots of nose to bumper space for drafting, and in a lot of the areas not a whole lot of run-off

I am a big fan of gravel traps. Not getting stuck in them, but they sure beat the alternative of hitting walls. It seems like a no-brainer to me, they can't cost that much and are far safer. I don't understand why racetracks don't have them everywhere. Canada corner at Road America is a very dangerous spot. Very fast entry and little run off. We lost another driver this year there at the June Sprints. I know it would be a large project to move the hill further away from the track, but it can and should be done. How many more have to get hurt or killed before it is done?
We have digressed from the thread though. Does anyone have an update on Mike yet?

Gravel traps are also annoying because any time a formula car goes in one, they are stuck and have to be extricated and the stewards immediately throw a BFA. Lots of runoff before the gravel would be preferred.
