Press Release: LG Motorsports To Laguna ALMS
For Immediate Release: 9-29-09
LG Motorsports beats out the Factory Funded Corvettes in Qualifying at Petit Le Mans!
LG Motorsports regrouping after the Long Beach incident with Boris Said, came back strong and put the LG Motorsports Corvette GT2 on the front row. The Coup de Gras was that the LG Corvette qualified in front of the 2 Factory Corvettes.
“We were pleased to put our Corvette in front of the entire factory field of Porsche, Ferrari and Corvettes.” Said Gigliotti. “We put Tom Sutherland in to bring some young blood in and he earned his stripes.” The team said. We race on Pennies to the GM Team’s dollars
Young Tom Sutherland was the first to put a car on the pole early and it was not until later in the qualifying session that it was lost, first to the Factory Corvette driven by Berretta, then by the Ford GT.
Gigliotti said that, “we asked Tom if there was anymore in the car and with a Yes nod, we told him to go get the pole!” Which Sutherland did, but it was short lived. With less than 2 minutes to go, the LG Motorsports car lost the pole by mere 58 thousandths of a second to the Ford GT driven by David Murry.
“As far as we at LG Motorsports are concerned, it was vindication to be on Dunlop tires, and we did this with NO bailout money and no help from Chevy racing. We race on Pennies to the factory team’s Dollars.” Said the LG team Representative.
The Team will be heading to Laguna to contest the last race of the season with Tomy Drissi and Tom Sutherland.
Stay tuned!

Safety Car
Sounds like a certain Corvette / Ferrarri battle I recently saw in Wisconsin...maybe some Vipers in there, too.
