As part of the festivities surrounding Gil de ferran's retirement as a driver, de Ferran is honoring Jim hall in his final ALMS race.

Jim Hall gave de Ferran his first ride in Indycar in 1995. de Ferran won Rookie of the Year honors and scored his first Indycar victory at Laguna that year. He also gave Jim Hall his final Indycar victory as a team owner at Cleveland in 1996. de Ferran went on to win 2 Indycar championships with Roger Penske in 2000 and 2001.

To honor Hall, the team's #66 Acura LMP1 will carry the famous "GM fleet white" livery of the 1960's Chaparrals sports race cars

Jim Hall will also be in attendance and is bringing the Penzoil Indycar that de Ferran won with at Laguna, plus the Chaparral 2(A) and 2E race cars

This is cool. I actually hauled some of his engines from Midland, through DFW, to Indy. They came in pretty small crates. Wish Hap Sharp could be there.
