First autocross in my 08 Z51, with video!
I bought my 08 coupe a few weeks ago, today was the last autox of the year for the local club I run with. I've been autocrossing for several years, but the vette is sure different than my previous cars.
Conditions were so so. The track was dry, but it was only 47 degrees so the pavement was pretty cold. The car is stock, and still has the OEM Goodyear's with 17000 miles on them. I ran my first run with competition mode on, but got annoyed at it and turned it off for the rest. This led to a bit of sliding and wheel spin since I'm not great on throttle control yet.
I mounted my camera on the underside of the transparent roof, but I didn't use a long enough extension so you mostly see the rear view mirror. Apparently the roof also flexes a bit as you drive, so there's a lot of vibration. Next season I'll probably get a gopro HD, but this is all I have for now.
It was great fun, I'm looking forward to getting better with the car.
