Default 335 fitment on a C6?

Can a 335-18 tire fit on a C6 without modifying the inner fenderwells and still stay within the T1 1" limit of the body?

I am not thinking so. C6 fenders and inner fenderwells are not as friendly as C5's, especially in the front. 315's are harder to clear on the C6's than C5's. I think you could get them on there but I believe there would be >1 inch sticking out....

Danny is spot on

The inner wheel wheel liner will be rubbed away or could be tubbed.

YES the 335 will stick out unless the fenders are flaired

Thanks guys.

I am trying to think of ideas to help T1. I don't know if this would be a good one, but had to know if it was feasible before mentioning it.

Thanks again.

Allow 18" wheels all around. Even on the C5s.

Putting 335s on the back of the C6 really won't help it Dave. I tried it on my C5 (when Scotty White found that loophole in the rules) and the taller profile hurt the acceleration off the corners so much that it wasn't worth it.

The other problem with the C6 is the rear spring droop under acceleration and especially bumps. Look at the photos of C6s (especially LS3s) under acceleration or when they hit a big bump. The tire goes up into the wheel well! 335s stick out and the fenders cut it.

I'm not sure that's completely accurate. ttrotory has 335/18 Toyo R888s on his CCW 18X11s under stock fenders (rear) without fitment issues. The profile isn't very tall.

Why are you thinking to give the C6 more tire?

315/17 25.6 diam, 335/17 25.6 diam., 315/18 25.6 diam, 335/18 25.6 diam

Are those numbers wrong?

I think those are ttrotary's street wheels. My 305/35r18 R888s are pretty darn flush with my rear fenders on the C6... I can't imagine the 335s also being flush, but they may be within an inch if you can keep from ripping the fender off under compression.

so you're saying it's not a hard driven track car?

regardless, I don't think the C6 needs MORE rear tire..

I did mention they're on CCWs. I've seen pics of 325s on CCW 18X11s that are well within the rear fenders. I can't attest to ttrotary's driving habits.

I'm on CCWs, too. I was 18x11 front with 295/30r18 and rubbed about 3/8" of the outer edge of the tire on the fender. Now I'm 18x10 with 275/35r18 and I'm still rubbing on the fender. I think I need less aggressive camber plates and to remove a bunch of spacers behind the upper A-arm to try to suck everything in closer to the frame.

I have 18x11 with 305/35r18 rears and they tuck very nicely inside the fender during compression. The R888 runs a bit wider than the stated widths, FWIW.

I have 18X10.5 CCW C10s with Toyo R888 295/18s front and 18X13 R888335/18 rear (Z06 fenders) and don't rub anywhere (except for the brake duct hose at full wheel lock). I don't even have the car aligned and corner-weighted yet. The fronts will tuck in a bit. Different offset?

I was talking with one of the crew chiefs for a T1 C6 and we were comparing each other's cars spec "line by line." One retort he had for some of my points was that the Viper has more rear tire. So I suggested allowing the Corvettes a 335, but did not know if it would work on a C6 (and was pretty sure it could be done on a C5).

I didn't rub my first couple of times out with them, either, and I never rub on the road. I'm running near stock ride height and now that I push the car harder I can rub the fender on the front tire (or vice versa). Stock swaybars, stock springs the first time, but I still rub with stock swaybars, DRM coilovers. Like I said, I'm going to try to pull the tire in a little more with a less aggressive camber plate and fewer spaces on the upper... keep the alignment the same, lose some track, but I don't think there's enough there to make up for the rub.

Sorry for the side track, Dave. :-)

I think the C6 tires are fine how they are (especially an LS3), how much faster do we need to make a car that can already run away from 90% of the field in 3 laps time and not get caught?

Not all 335s are the same width. Hoosiers tend to be a bit wider, you know T1 rules

my Mich PS 18x335/30 is 13.1" wide

my Hoosier VRL, and A's 18x335/30 are 13.6" wide

a full 1/2" difference
