Need help with glue - pic
I am trying to glue this parking stop to a door mat (so it doesnt skid on the garage floor).
I have tried:
Construction caulk (Liquid Nails)
2 part epoxy putty (Billy Mays)
Gorilla Glue
Loctite Plastic Epoxy (2 part in syringe)
PVC Blue Glue
*************
GOOP - Plumbers version is working so far !!!!!!
Plumber's GOOP failed 7/17/10
That's not bad I guess, redid w/ same.
*************************
Any ideas?
I don't know the technical name for the hard yellow plastic, but it sure does not want to be glued. Everything sticks to the rubber door mat.

go to home depot, forget the little tube stuff.. get construction adhesive, think its called bulldog super strength. It fits in a caulking gun. Put it on the bottom of the plastic..apply to mat... put weight on it. Ive had great success using this stuff for tons of adhesive applications.

The yellow plastic is probably high-density polyethylene (HDPE) or maybe polyvinyl chloride (PVC). Neither one will glue permantly to rubber. Your best bet is to pick up a plastic mat, glue the stop to it and then apply a 3M adhesive to the back of the mat to stick to the floor. Don't forget to prime the PVC so the glue will stick or better yet use screws to fasten the stop to the mat from the bottom.

You might want to try Carpet tape. I have used it to secure a wooden ramp to a tile floor and it has held for better than two years now. It also allows you to take it up without to much effort. Make sure it is Double Sided.
