Where to mount AMB Transponder?
Where is the best spot on the car to mount it? Directions were pretty vague:
1. Must be mounted vertically at a maximum height of 2 feet from the ground.
2. Make sure no metal is between the transponder and the track.
3. Max opertating temperature can not exceed 122*F.

Is it a permanent mount or cordless model?
Is it for racing or time trials?

Since it's for time trials, you can put it in the cubby hole that is in the trunk between the exhausts. Put some velcro tape on the back of it and it'll still to the carpet back there. You can either splice it into the lighter circuit or put a lighter plug on it and plug it into the lighter socket.

I hard-wired mine. It's mounted on the passenger side foot well on the outside of the car. It is hot any time the ignition is on. 2002 Z06 wiring harness is easy. Works fine and is out of the weather. Link to DIY mounting below:

Melting Slicks
I mounted mine to the passenger side frame in front of the radiator.
I can reach it from the top with the hood open.
I grounded to the frame and ran hot wire back to toggle switch in the cabin.
As an option you could attach aligator clips and attach to battery or tap into the fuse block next to the battery.
I like have a lighted toggle switch in the cabin so I can verify if it is on.
I haven't had a problem yet.

For hard-wiring, just pick up an "add-a-circuit" (so no line splicing and gives it a fuse) and then add it to a circuit in the under-hood panel that is powered only when the ignition is on, otherwise it will draw current when the car isn't running. I think I picked one of the O2 sensor fuse sockets for mine, as those are not powered until the ignition is on.
