Default New mobil 1

Mobil 1 has a new racing oil formulated for race purposes only. They dont recommend using this oil for street appl. due to the higher amount of ZINC/PHOSFHORUS content which actually protects the higher horsepower engines. Very expensive, but ill go for it anyway.

IIRC it is one time use only. Change oil each track event

I have been using RP #21 racing oil in my '06 C6Z for about 40 track events and 24K miles now. In month or so, I am going to pull the pan to install the Aviad trap door mod and at that time I will pull some rod caps and check the bearings. Everyone should buy an oil filter cutter and check for particles at each oil/filter change in any case.

Stuff is expensive. I bought a couple cases of it a few months ago and I have been blending it in with my regular Mobil 1 5W30 oil 50/50. So far so good .

I still prefer the Renewable Lubricants Inc. oils. I analyze my oil for wear elements at every change & the RLI stuff works. I run their 5w-40 HD so I don't worry about it being too thick when cold like a 15w-50, and this stuff has a great combination of high film strength polar base stocks & extremely strong anti-wear additives.

I have been running Mobil 1 0w40, with a bottle ZDD Plus added to eac oil change - www.zddplus.com.

It adds back the ZDDP (Zinc Dialkyl Dithio Phosphate, containing both Zinc and Phosphorus) that the EPA is forcing the oil companies to remove from our oils.
