Default Recycle rotors

I just thought I'd give you guys a heads up that at least in some places you can recycle your used rotors. I put a pair in my recycle bin last week for curbside pickup, I wasn't sure if they would take them. I figured if they didn't they would just toss them out for me to pick up later. But they tossed them in truck no problem.

You can also check your local recycling center. Mine has a huge scrap metal bin.

My recycler spit them back out into my front yard. Now they are pleasing the neighbors by weighting down my shed roof... which is below my fence line so the HOA can't B!tch

Every once in a while I slip one in the middle of a full trash can.

It's like Shawshank Redemption with brake rotors. One by one they disappear.

That's what I thought it would be like here to. At my old house I knew a local mechanic with a scrap metal bin so that was easy. Here there's nothing close by at all. I was surprised they recycled two at once, I figured they would go quietly one by one as well.

There is a local repair shop that fills up old Vans with parts they take off when doing car repairs. When full the Van and parts are all hauled to the wrecking yard. They let me throw my old rotors into the Vans.

I have 2 scrappers within 10 mins of the house, I take to whoever is paying the most per lb at the time. $110 for the last 1900 lb I took, TT gas $$

I probably cracked 500 lb worth of chinese pot metal rotors in 09...

I too just wait till I have a pile and go to the scrap yard. Sometimes they find other uses while they are sitting there! Like I made a sheetmetal fender (not vette obviously) using the rotor as a die and a hammer.

All I have to do is put them out by the curb the night before garbage day. They disappear before morning.

They are just basically iron. Bury them in your backyard, iron naturally degrades quickly ...

It would be my luck all that iron would end up in my well and cost me more in salt for the water softener.

If they can declare CO2 an evironmental hazard, what do you think they will do when they find out we are putting pure Fe in the ground?
