What are the equivalent classes with NASA & SCCA?
As the title says. How do the classes cross reference? More specifically, what SCCA class would a PTA/TTA C5 Corvette run in?

Basically, if you have a NASA car prepared to the full extent of the rules you're looking at ITE which is the catch-all regional class. If I'm reading the STO/STU rules correctly you need a stock dash pad, etc, too, so that really does just leave ITE for most NASA cars. PT cars may be able to land in some other classes depending on their modifications... under-prepared T1 car?
Going from SCCA to NASA is easier since you're just looking to land in the right pwr/wt range...

If you are running a more or less stock C5 in ST2 then you are close to SCCA T1 class. If you are running with ground affects, brake upgrade, etc, then you are closer to SCCA STO class. If you have more specific questions, give me a call or pm. I can guide you through it, I have run in both NASA and SCCA.

Big brakes don't necessarily make you any faster, they just make you more consistent. Bone stock brakes are perfectly fine for Roebling or Lime Rock or some other easy braking track. Bolting on 6-piston Brembos aren't going to help your lap times there - overkill! But the light 2-piece rotors will help and those big brakes will help over the entire race distance at Road America, etc.

A PT car built to the letter (big checkbook) of the NASA PT/TT rule book would look like a gutted, cheating ringer T1 car. Oh wait, that IS your car!!!
