Default R3 safety solutions

I'm looking to add to my safety during HPDEs, NASA/PDA without making my car a track only car by adding a full cage, nets etc... I was reading through safety solutions website and saw the R3 system that works with the stock 3 point belt. Does anyone here use one? Or do you have any pro or cons regarding this system. Thanks

I also plan on getting an R3 for this upcoming season. Because I instruct for NASA/PDA, I want something that doesn't rely on a harness when I'm in students' vehicles (with 3 point stock seatbelts). From everything I've read on it, it seems to be a good alternative to a HANS.
Be good,
TomK

I'll be calling them soon. In addition to the safety that it provides I noticed that you can leave the system in the car without having to get out with it attached to you. I wonder how much it will affect the clearance between the helmet and head liner of my C6Z06. I only have about an inch now.

I'll get back to you after I speak with the company. I noticed that they have an R3 that doesn't strap around your chest which can be used with a 3 point belt.

I can wear it when we work on your car. John, I've been reading all the post regarding race seats, harnesses, roll cages etc... I've come to understand that for it to work it has work as a complete system. Instead of chopping up an 80,000 car it's more cost effective to buy something already made and run it. For a part time track guy such as myself who will trailer my car to 8 to 10 events a year it's not worth hacking up my car even though I don't drive it on the street. There are plenty of cars for sale that are track ready for way less than the costs of modifying and fabricating.

I've been using the R3 for 3 years now and love it. I also instruct and it gives you some protection in a 3 point harness. It is like anything else, it takes time to get used to, but I have no trouble with it and use it all of the time. Jd

Why is it that the guys who sit on the side lines have the most to say? How many years has it been? That old biscuit, bucket of monkey nuts that you have sitting in your garage with the cans and other crap on it is now only good for some old stories of how you blew by some guys in run group 1 and 2 during your runs with BEN HUR back in rome

I have used the less expensive R3 Rage in "straps to your chest" style. Did feel awkward at first. But got used to it pretty quickly.
