Engine drag warning.
I got this messege a couple of times last year. I was told it was due to a track tire frnt/rear circumferance too high. The oem tires GYS frnt/rear is 1.1. Ive been since using Hoosiers 275frnt/325 rear circ. 1.3
No problems. Now IAM IN NEED OF MORE RUBBER . BTW iam using C6ZO6 oem wheels. Been contemplating going with Hoosiers 295/345 combo , but iam worried about the high circ. of 1.5.
HELP PLEASE.
BTW; forgot to mention C6ZO6 issue.

I guess excessive diameter difference could aggravate that problem, but I don't see why you would ever see the "drag" warning on track at all unless you miss a downshift. I run 18's front and rear, and obviously you have limited choice with 19's, but unless it is causing the car to go into some sort of safety/limp mode (like the TPMS does) I wouldn't worry about it.

Hey shifter77, I know you and I have talked about this and I have heard about some having problems, but I personally have not.
My advice would be to call Phoenix and ask them if they have seen it. Your not going to get much luck in the C6Z06 section as far a truly competent answers, if you aren't getting responses in this section.
Here is one point, you did mount new tire sensors and reset them with the calibration tool prior to use?? This a MUST do!!
I can't think of any other shop that has set up more C6's than Phoneix, if they don't have an answer, then you really are in a tough position.

you only need TPSM's if you run active handing/TC. If you shut everything down, it's not an issue. I've never had monitors in my tires.
The drag warning basically is to keep people from shifting into a lower gear, and using engine torque to slow you down. I think it is to avoid skidding the rear tires and causing a spin as the rear tires are unloaded. I guess with AH/TC/ABS, they've decided even though they can't prevent people from miss down-shifting, they can at least bug you about it.

The "engine drag warning message" is very common with larger diameter rear tires with respect to the fronts.
You can get the messge by just lifting at high rpms, say maybe 6k or higher.
When you lift at high rpms it looks at the rear wheel speed to see if the tire is loosing traction. As the tire is oversize with respect to the front it is turning slower so the computer reads this as it is loosing traction and it will apply very slight throtle to slow the deceleration.
Do a search in the Z06 section for more info as it has been discussed in detail there.........

If you go up equally such as 285/335 or 295/345 you shouldn't have an issue with the "engine drag active" light coming on. I experienced this with 285/345 Nitto Invo tires. Once I changed to 295/345 it went away.
Just my experience.

If you do an edit to the tire sizes in the computer, it will go away. Use the actual tire on the car and down on the ground height measurements as these are the most accurate.
