Default Chin Sebring Event - Jan 3 Pix

Didn't get to drive, but got to ride along in the #111 C4. It's a nicely modified LT4. It was a blast. Just thought I'd share some pics from the event. Any one else from the forum go? There were quite a few vettes in attendance along with some nice exotics.

Happened in T16 coming on to the back straight. There were a few instructors here that were in attendance. I'll defer to them.

The event can be described in one word!!!!!!!!!! COLD. LOL!!!!! But it was a great 2 days and lots of fun. As mentioned before there were a lot of fast cars there. The Katech ran great, it loves the cold air!!
With regard to the T16 mishap, Cold air, cold tires, cold track, first time out at Sebring, and to much enthusiasm= &$&%*&#!!!! That pretty much says it all. Very glad that no one was hurt, both student and instructor are OK. The car did not fair as well. For those of us that run a lot at Sebring, T16 is not very forgiving and it is very deceptive.
All and all it was a great weekend at Sebring and the cars loved the cold even if some of us drivers didn't. As usual, Chin, "Mark and Maria" did a great job keeping things on schedual and on track. JD

Great pictures, thanks. I think you got every vette but mine. LOL!!!!

Nice pics!!! It has been cold everywhere the past week...I think Orlando is going down to 30F tonight!!!

Some day I guess I HAVE to get to Sebring. It would be nostalgic if nothing else to drive on the course with so much history. Not sure how I could get my car from NJ to central Floriday though.

Tell me, nostalgia aside, is this a course that is a "must do"? I have heard it's very hard and bumpy on the cars and not necessarily a pleasureable experience. I have seen the 12 hours in person, but you can't really get a feel for the course until you drive it.

There are a few bumpy places but nothing that really tears up your car. The track is a lot of fun to drive and a must do. It is a HP track at 3.7 miles, like anyother high speed track, you need to be careful and work your way up to speed. There are a few corners that have very little run off but most are OK if you use a late entry. Great track for vette's. JD

You left out the 3.90 gears, 3000 rpm converter and trans tuned for drag racing - converter flashed near the apex and the throttle kick brought the car around. Rough for anyone but especially so for a first timer, first event, first session...

I was there and thanks to Danny Popp for the real time tech support...

I gave the checkride to Tim...

It is a must do, for the nostalgia and the course itself, and this time we even stayed in the Kenilworth Lodge Presidential Suite...

Very true! That was probably the best selection of cars that I have seen at a track day in a couple of years. Ferrari 430 Challenge cars, a Carrera GT (doing a 360 in Turn 4 on the first morning session outlap), several GT3's and a GT3 RS, 5 GT-R's (including a nicely prepared one similar to the One Lap winner), a ZR1, some Vipers and a bunch of race prepped cars. Great to see so many different marques out there hauling butt!!

I missed the ZR1 and Carrera GT (didn't get there till 11am sun). The Ferrari's where wicked fast as well as the GT-Rs. The Spyker C8 was cool to see at the track, but understandably didn't seem to push it too hard. I think I counted no less than 5 ZO6's...

I was there on sunday and yes it was COLD. Ran in the blue group with some friends that had Porsches, Turbos and GT3's. Good fun, Chinn does a great job.
