Default Post Your Lap Times

I've been going to track events "HPDEs" for a year and a half and this spring I'm going to start recording my lap times. I would like to be able to get an idea of lap times from different tracks in the northeast such as Lime rock, Pocono North, Pocono double in field, Pocono long course, Monticello long course and Watkins Glen. Also are you running mods such as slicks, engine, suspension etc...

I know you're looking for more detail, but this may help until other Vette owners answer up.

http://www.trackpedia.com/wiki/Track...tes_Of_America

Once you click into the track you want, then click on "Typical Lap Times".

My 1992 with over 100k miles 266rwhp, Nitto R2s, stock springs with revalved FX3 shocks went 1:03.9 at Lime Rock (old surface) in 2007. Same set up went 1:02.1 at Pocono North Course.

I hope to be out this season.

Check the NASA-TT webpage and look at the track records.
TTS-TTA-TTB are where most C5/6 vettes run.

Every lap I ever did was under 15 minutes.

Well truthfully not all one lap was 16 hours plus. I had to wait to be dragged on my trailer when the engine, tranny, and diff all went bang on one horrific moment of one horrific day at Pocono North! Two guys in the pouring rain Sunday morning at 7am for 50 bucks? They put the tow truck in front of my trailer and yanked it up. I felt bad and gave them 100 I still figured I robbed them! Lucky me it was the first day with a trailer go figure!

I really didn't find anything. It would be nice to see not only lap times of our cars but the mods and track conditions, weather, caught up in traffic or open field etc... Maybe we should start to post times as the drag racing section does or would that be to difficult?

I was at Lime Rock once with Katrina my 03 Z06, Stock with Hawk Blues and a set of old Hoosier AS05s (what ever they were called, 20 heat cycles or so) It was about 35 degrees that day in late November and I ran a couple 59.7s, I actually came in second to my Buddy Glen who beat me by a couple thousands, I believe we were like 5 seconds under the old track record.

I have Video on my YouTube site should be loaded in about 10 minutes

Enjoy

no

Limerock most days cold, wet after modified or dropped the clutch with my palm on the trailer for a fast but short 4' ride Hopefully I could pull 59,XX on a nice day. Think best to date is just over 1:00 Doubt I would go back for the 1/2 crap.

VIR there twice never got used to track broke torque tube one trip and tranny the next year both years I got sick while there One year I stopped at every rest station I think on the way down after T-Day

The Glen there twice cold 20* to start and rain did get used to it second day dry no clue on times not that great need more time and good weather. Second day was much faster don't really like the armco

Pocono Long counterclockwise 1:31.0X burned up old tires.

Pocono North 57.01 I think first time there it was 1:03+ been a long time.

Pocono South & East I would have to have Mrs look at papers she kept.

Goals below 1:30 Pocono Long new tires few aero mods same HP.
Pocono North below 57 I just need 4 new tires new pads.

My lap times are easy to advertise - a few seconds off from the leader(s).

A good way for you to find the faster limit of moderately modified, but still near stock drive train results is to go to mylaps dot com and after selecting the right group (car racing) and country, do a search for someone that races in SCCA T1 class in the area of your interest. For example, I searched for fellow forum member Joe Gaudette (sleeper02Z06) and found about 10 of his recent results. For example, in Aug 09, he turned a 1:39 at Pocono. Only downside to mylaps is it doesn't list what kind of car everyone is in (or even the class), so it is important to look at a driver you know. In this case, I know that Joe races a car almost identical to mine, an 02 Z06 with stock motor, intake, tranny and diff. Major mods include cage, safety gear, T1 suspension (and I believe Joe uses pfadt shocks), straight through exhaust aft of the stock manifold, DOT R tires running on 17x10 front, 17x11 rear (probably Hoosier A6) and likely oil and tranny coolers.

Do a Google on SCCA track records. Find the region/tracks near you and look at the T1 track record. That will be a strong target to reach with any vette with any mods.

You can also use the NASA records but the T1 records are more "consistant".
