24 Hours of Daytona - Who's Going?
I will be showing up early AM on Thursday and this year will stay Sunday night to actually witness the end of the race. Have the GRM tickets once again.
So who else is going to be there?

Will be there once again, every year since 1964 when it was the Daytona Continental.
Always dreamed of competing in the 24, and our Rolex Corvette is about 90% done....
however the budget is about 100K short of doing that race. My racing partner (Squeak Kennedy) has about 18 appearances in the 24.

I'll be there arriving around noon Thursday? If I drive all night. I'll be camping in lot 113 near turn 4 of NASCAR track I beleive it is. Staying till after the race Sunday. Weather permitting (no snow in Virginia) i'll be taking the Vette down. I guess i'll be taking cabs if I go anywhere though cause I don't think you are allowed to move your car once you park in camping spot.

FYI, there's one that's probably even closer to the Speedway at 1078 Dunlawton Ave, Port Orange. It's not on the beach, so it's usually much easier to get seating, and they have better parking than their Ormond location.
If we can figure out a date and how many people might attend, I can call either one (or any other place in town we might like to go to) and arrange to get some tables - especially if it's Fri or Sat night we'll need reservations.

Friday night?

Friday night sounds good to me!!
Now we just have to figure out when and nail down where.
Stonewood is a very nice semi-upscale restaurant.

If you want someplace with a more "Florida feel" while you're visiting here, I'd recommend someplace like Down the Hatch or Lightouse Landing - both down by the Ponce Inlet lighthouse on the very southern end of the barrier island off Daytona (go down A1A until you can't go any farther). Both are basically seafood restaurants, but have other stuff too. Both are very casual, but Lighthouse Landing has a much more limited menu. Down the Hatch has great parking.

We are here for RACING!!! - so maybe Racing's North Turn would be good!! It's where the north turn was on the old beach race course before the Speedway was built (you can read about its history on the site below). It's on A1A as you head down toward Ponce Inlet, but not all the way down to the end.

So.....let's figure out where we would like to go, a time to meet, and how many of us there will be, and I'll go to the restaurant and try to arrange for them to handle our party.
Things are very busy when the Rolex is going on, so the earlier the better for getting a party of a dozen or so of us in.

Friday works for me. I just need it to be a few hours after the Conti race is over. I am up for whatever but prefer Stonewood on A1A since I promised a buddy we would go there at least one night.

I'm all for Stonewood - I live here so I can go to all those local places all year long!!
I posted the schedule of events for the whole weekend below. For anybody at the Conti 200 on Friday afternoon with Todd Z, it looks like it's got a 2-1/2 hour time limit so it won't go past 4:15.
I would guess most should be able to make it to Stonewood by 7:30 or 8:00. We don't want to be too late in case anybody needs to be out to the track early for Saturday's events!
Stonewood does have a room for private parties. I'll check tomorrow to see if it's been booked yet. I'll need to know how many folks we're gonna have so I can tell them at least an approximate number.
So.....I'm standing by for what time would be good for us, and confirmations on numbers of people. You can list here, or PM me.
