Default Circle Track Magazine – Helmet Safety Article

Circle track magazine had a good article about helmet safety this past month.

http://www.circletrack.com/safety/ct...met/index.html

Most probably already know about not using a motorcycle helmet in a race car, but these pictures kind of drove the point home.

The major difference between SA and MA is the use of Nomex. At most track events you're wearing a short sleeve shirt and shorts. Think about this.

If you decide to upgrade to an SA helmet you really should do the whole deal. Nomex in the helmet won't help you much if you have a short sleeve shirt on.

Almost all the groups I've run with ask for a long sleeve cotton shirt and also long pants. Oddly they don't require a fire extinguisher though...
