My car is still a dual purpose C6ZO6. Whats simple weight to remove?

There is not really much you can remove to save weight and still consider the car dual purpose. To save any meaningful weight, you are going to have to remove all interior, carpets, insulation, AC and condenser/compressor, get rid of stock seats and go to race seats.

Amen. The only thing that comes to mind as mentioned is to delete the A/C. You'd still be comfortable driving in many climates without it depending on the season. After that it's a race car--start w/the emissions stuff.

For those of you that are mentioning race seats as a way to remove weight, anyone considering this needs to really investigate the weight of the seats they researching. The stock C5Z06 are light (and suck) already. I recently put in a set of Evo 2s and did not lose any weight with my setup.
For the record on 2003 Z06 seat weights:
Stock Driver with motor and base: 38.4 lbs
Stock Passenger with slider and base: 30.8 lbs
Sparco Evo 2 with Sparco base and Sparco slider: 36.6 lbs
Sparco Evo 2 with Sparco base: 32.2 lbs
I lost 1.8 lbs on the driver side and gained 1.4 lbs on the passenger side. So for almost $2000, I lost .4 lbs. Pretty good, right?!?!?!
Carbon fiber seats will weigh less. As will aluminum mounts. And not having a slider.

I have posted some illustrated instructions on removing the C4, C5, and C6 interiors in PDF format. I wrote these instructions myself, and they accompany my Insulation Kits I sell.
They should be helpful in making a decision to strip out the interior.

Yep, the slider is ~4.4lbs. However, my wife is a foot shorter than me, so the sliders are a compromise so she can also drive the car at events.
Even without the slider, I would have only dropped less than 5lbs versus the stock seats. Which, in my opinion, really really suck. And not because they don't hold you, I can't stand them because the back is so flimsy.

some racing seats, including aluminum, could weight half of what Kevin mentions. AC compressor is only about 10lbs, but it is very near the nose.
If you have unlimited money, one way to improve the weight without compromise would be to reskin with a full racing-grade carbon body. You'd spend about $25000 and probably not be DOT legal, but you'd save several hundred pounds.
