C5 z51 vs. ZO6 Springs?
Is there a significant difference between the '98 Z51 and Z06 springs? I guess the question is there a great enough performance improvement to warrant the change? Also is any year z06 spring more desireable than others? TIA

GM upgraded the Z51 suspension package in 2000 vs. the previous years, I think with thicker anti-sway bars and shocks. But this is not relivant to your question.
In 2001 the Z06 was introduced which had the same front spring as the 2000 Z51 package, but a 25% stiffer rear spring. Also the Z06 package had different shocks and a .055" thicker front anti-sway bar than the Z51 package. All of these things (shocks, springs and anti-sway bars) work together to improve the handeling of the Z06. If you're going to change your suspension, then do it right and go with a complele suspension package that was designed to work together, otherwise you will probably do more harm than good by changing only a spring here or a anti-sway bar there. I agree with Jim 47, but I believe the only difference between the ZO6 springs and all of the Z51 springs (97' to 02') is that the rear spring on the ZO6 is 10% stiffer. Front is the same spring rate. The 01' and 02' ZO6 have the same rear sway bar as the 00' to 02' Z51. The front ZO6 (01' and 02') sway bar is larger than all Z51's. The 01' ZO6 had stiffer shocks than all Z51 and the 02 ZO6 had a stiffer shock than the 01' ZO6. If you want to upgrade your 00', 01', or 02' Z51 suspension (not incl wheels and tires) to an 02' ZO6, then replace the front sway bar, rear spring, all shocks, and alignment settings.
