local driving coach sells them at VIR. Great guy, taught me everything I know (or at least got me off to a great start 20 years ago)

Thanks for the props, David. You are a great example of someone who's given a great deal back to the sport and I am very proud to have played some small part in your growth as a driver and an instructor.
I supply Traqmate equipment (among others), I offer training with it and if there is enough interest, I would be delighted to host a training seminar for Corvette Forum members either online or at my classroom at the track at VIR on how you can use Traqmate (and others) to go quicker with less risk in your Corvettes! I do think of al the choices out there, Traqmate is the easiest to use and the quickest to glean usable, understandable information. Carl Hunt and I have had a good time with it in his pretty red C6 Z06.
I do think inexpensive GPS-based data acquisition is an exceptional tool for jettisoning the 80% you're doing well and finding and focusing on the 20% that will yield a significant difference. Just comparing the rate of deceleration (in fps or in longitudinal g's) between various braking zones can reveal inconsistencies that cost a lot of time and increase wear. The behavior of the throttle foot can be identified and corrected by a simple view of Speed versus Distance graphing.
You don't need to be an engineer to understand this, that's the beauty of all these new technological offerings. You all drive one of the most extraordinary vehicles made and it's up to you to probe (gently) the car's, and more importantly your, limits. This is a great tool to help do that.
Be delighted to help Forum members in any way I can.

I got my traqmate from Discovery Parts, 10% discount because I bought it at the track at an event.

Then, of course, I had a couple guys email me after the fact, to see if it was to late. I was able to get a couple of them in, but some were just too late.
I'll start another thread, and see what happens.
