Rollcall: NJMP w/PDA April 16th - 18th
PDA is having an open track @ NJMP Lightning course on Friday 4/16 and also doing their HPDE program on Sat 4/17 & Sunday 4/18.

I was signed up for the HPDE weekend with some buddies, but something came up and I had to switch to just doing the Open track on Friday 4/16. Any other forum members attending either events?

I will be there all 3 days.
Hopefully my car will be also! Still waiting on Spherical bearings. Once I have those I can start putting it back together then I need to set ride height, align and corner balance.

I remember reading your thread about those bearing not being in stock. Hope it all works out for you.
I'm running their (pfadt) latest poly bushing setup and I would love to see what the ride/performance difference is between our two cars.

I still have to be there. Instructing commitments. On Friday I'll be the guy who looks really sad watching!
Let's hope it doesn't come to that!
That was the only NASA/PDA event I missed last year. I was stuck in Atlanta due to a cancelled flight.

My car is back together and ready.
Just got back from Phoenix about 15 minutes ago!
Ride height set, aligned and corner balanced.
She feels like a dream again. Not quite as pretty as she used to be but I did have enough time to get rid of the blue strips.

^ good deal.
I'm just debating which car to bring now. I'm pretty sure my half tread R888's will get me thru the day on Friday, but I don't think they are going to do well on the ride home with the rain thats currently in the forecast...

I'm not a gambler.
really tough choice. I did some searching and the general opinion is that R888's are somewhat 'ok' in the rain when @ full tread, but totally suck once they're worn down like mine.

If the roads are just wet you should be fine if you drive with common sense.

uploaded some footage of my last session, if anyone cares to watch. I know there are a couple NJMP instructors that frequent the boards... I would appreicate your valuable input

the turns I felt like I was having the most trouble with was 3 & 4. I took Frank G's advice from another thread and tried to make those 2 turns into one. That tip worked because I seemed to catch people right there, but I think I was going into T2 too hot/deep causing me to apex T3 too early which wasn't setting me up correctly for the entry into T4.

I only looked at a couple laps, but it seems for the most part you got it. You could shave a little more time off by not going so wide entering turn 2. Traditional theory would lead you to take that turn as a mid/late apex (like most turns), but I find that if I take that apex earlier than normal, and just stay on the throttle, I can go faster and simply use the extra run off on the furthest left hand side before turn 3 to scrub off speed as you enter the esses (mouthful). I am just tapping the brakes at this point to keep the car in one continuous arc. You can only go so fast throught the esses, so the key to maintaining smooth grip with as much throttle as possible. Aviod any sudden jerky turning or acute angles...one BIG FAST arc all the way through with your foot constanly apply power.
Exit speed will help you maintain moment up and over turn 5 which should catapult you under the bridge at almost the same speed as down the main strait.

I also have a bunch of video from this weekend. I was there on Saturday and Sunday in the white group.
If you have any suggestions I'm all ears too. I felt like i was generally pulling away from similarly fast cars through turns 1, 2-4 and then around 8, but i think i lost ground getting off turn 7 and i was probably braking earlier then i needed to into turn 1 more often then not.

Also had a bit of a close call with a car parked across the line just after turn 5.

I did not, I was trying to not run over the white exige and when it came out and the flagger was right about where my A pillar is. I actually pulled the video off the camera right after that session because i was freaked out that I didnt see a flag and was wondering if i had just missed it or if it wasnt there when i went over the hill.

at first I thought it was waving as you were approaching, but after watching it for a second time I can see how that flag would be hard to see.
we had a ton of off's on Friday. I have vid of two cars spinning right in front of me and I watched a poor porsche spin off into a tire wall in my rearview.
