Default Tow vehicle?

Anyone towing with a Nissan Titan or the new Dodge Ram? I will be pulling about 4500 lbs (c5 z06 on an open trailex trailer). This weight is well below the max towing capacity for both trucks. Just looking for personal experience with either truck.

sperkins on here hauls around his FRC on an open with his Titan. he's usually carrying about 900 lbs of tires in the bed to, and I think he does well although he's always complaining about the mileage

Yep Mark is right. My Titan pulls like a mule, but is horrible on mileage thanks to my lead foot.
I usually have it loaded to the max inside and out and have never had a problem (knock on wood).

If you're looking to purchase a tow vehicle. Look for a 3/4 ton gas engine truck. The GM 8.1 would be my first choice for a newer tow rig. The F250 with a V10, not a 5.4 V8. I would not reccomend any Chrysler product. I use a C2500 with a 454, towing around 4,600 lb. It will get 10-12 mpg at 65 mph on cruise. Just my $.02

That is a very light weight for an open trailer unless it is aluminum. If it is truly that weight when fully loaded just about anything will tow it. I have been towing a 5500 lb 16 ft open trailer since 1993. The first 6 years I towed it with a 91 Olds Bravada with a 4.3 V6 160 HP engine. Since then I have been towing with Tahoes. The Bravada had trouble with steep hills but the Tahoes with their 7400 lb towing capacity hardly know the trailer is back there. If my rig was as light as yours I might still be towing with the Bravada or similar size vehicle.

I towed my 26' enclosed (~9,000 lbs loaded) with a Dodge Ram 1500 5.7L for two years with no issue. I just upgraded to a 2500 Diesel, but I don't think you need that for a flatbed trailer...
