recommend best R-tire
with 18x11 and 18x11 MPSC tires is no longer an option, what do you guys recommend for R-tire that can be used on street and track.
I know Hoosier is a great tire, but not recommended for highway use and i "think" i will get pulled over at Nurburgring.
My goal is to try and improve the Viper ACR Nurburgring time and i need the best legal rubber i can put on Dymag 18x11 and 18x13.

Hoosier A6
It is a DOT tire, if needed cut a couple more grooves in it.

If you are looking for a "true" street tire that is close to a R-comp look at the kumho XS. They are what all the street class drivers are running now. If you want a R tire with some tread on it not just the two grooves, look at the kumho victoracer V700. That is what I have been autocrossing my '73 on for years since they are cheaper than the V710s (although I saw tire rack has them about the same price now!). I have never tried the toyos or nittos since they only make a 245 wide tire in 16" size. I run 265 or 275 on a 9.5" rim.
The best R compund for outright grip is the hoosier A6. They are DOT legal and are leagal to drive on the street (at least in the USA, i dont' know about Germany).

I only use the 16" so I didn't know that the victoracer V700 only went to 17". I quickly looked at Tire Rack and saw the ecsta V700s and they do make them in a 18" up to a 335/35. They still have more tread grooves than the v710s, but my dad tried a set once on his 90 zr-1 and they wore out faster and wern't as sticky as the victoracer 700s.

I know they are not used or discussed a lot by members of this Forum, but you may consider the Pirelli PZero Corsa R compound tires.
They make a 295/30R18 tire that is 24.73 inches tall that would work on your 18 x 11 front rims.
They also make a 335/30R18 tire that is 25.91 inches tall that would work on your 18 x 13 rear rims.
Good luck with your decision.

Careful!
Hoosier states in their literature that they should not be driven on the street.

Almost none, but i import them as needed
Pumba i agree, A6 or R6 which i would use on Nurburgring as the A6 would burn up too fast, they are both not suited for street driving.
But GREAT R-Tire.
Pireli P-Zero could be an option.
I cant understand why Michelin quit making 345/30/18

The only state that because of the tread (lack of) and how easy it is to puncture a tire. If you were driving on the street and hit a puddle, the tires will not grip and there is a chance to wreck. Even a small rock can puncture one of these tires and there is a chance for a wreck. But there are those same dangers on a race track, just not as much traffic to run into. If you are smart you can drive these tires on the street. I haven't done it often, but have driven about 35 miles away to an autocross and back home on a set of hoosiers (back when the S03s were new!).
