Thats one beat up car! Glad he is ok though, saftey is definitely built into those things.

Yeah that was nasty looking. What I find even more amazing, is that a photographer just happened to have been in that spot. Certainly glad he walked away and seems to be doing well. I wonder if they'll be able to get another car together. I heard they were running very strong before the crash.

I know there is tradition and an element of purity to open cockpit cars, but it scares me everytime something like this happens. You had Massa last year; and could you imagine if an OC car was :01 behind this one with all of that debris? I'm not knocking it but I think I would be less confident with an OC car.

I just heard it was a rear suspension failure and that they pulled the other car from the race with concerns it may have the same failure. Nothing is confirmed yet...

My friend tells me (I couldn't beleive it) it was cause by the wind. Apparently, it was really windy. But as mentioned, nothing formal & confirm yet. Although, Jon Field is suffering from concussion, broken ankle & ribs. I'll know more tomorrow....

It's the wind.
According to several friends that works in 3 different alms teams, everyone is shock to learn and believed it was the strong windy condition that cause Jon field's car to flip over. Wow! Considering how low those lmp1 cars are, its hard to believe the wind could get underneath it and cause it to flip over like that. At any rate, this is the latest info i heard from my friends their in Sebring.
