Default Front/rear tire size on C4 race car

I know that C4 grandsports had narrow front tires than the rears. Also noticed that C5s and C6s have different sizes front and rear. I have always run 315s front and rear. I guess my question is since I have 290 17s and 320 18s already mounted up would the car run/handle better than straight 320s??? I was going to give it a try but if I can get a positive don't waste your time would save some time/effort.

THANKS FOR ALL positive or negative answers.

HAPPY EASTER TO ALL

I think as much tire as you can fit is always a good thing. On my C4 I had 18X12 CCW classics front and rear and could run 335's on the front and rear. Having 335's on the front was AWESOME!

Wider tires cost me points so for NASA time trials I run 275 on 18" rims.

For HPDE or NCCC events I have a set of 315 on 17" rims. THe rubber is old so its not fair to compare them.

If budget allowed I'd run the widest tire I could get on there without rubbing!

Presently running the Hoosier 305/645-18 R75's square on
Speedline Z06 10.5's. I like it with a lot of front tire.

Rudy,

I think Randy Findlayson was running 275 front w/ 315? rears on his C4 and he was smokin fast at MidO a few years ago. I say give it a try.

See you this weekend and Happy Easter!

Matt
