i have drawtite on a C5Z. not something I would call "hidden": http://www.etrailer.com/merchant2/gr.../4/24658_v.jpg
but it does the job. shop did the install, but from looking at it afterwards, looks like a straightforward job. you will have to enlarge a couple of existing holes in the frame and drill 2 new ones. there may be a way to install without drilling "access" holes.

there is. if you remove the rear fascia and rear impact foam, you can slide the 2 rearward ones in from the sides of the frame rail w/o drilling
I would sell you mine and my tire trailer but I think greywolfe on here has dibs on it...

I have the drawtite also, its certanly not hidden but on the other hand doesn't scream out of attention either. I have a black car which might account for it being very unobtrusive. I did the install in my driveway, drilling the holes. Its been a while but there are 4 bolts holding it on. Two of them are easy - the kit comes with nuts which have a long tab on them. You can insert the nut into an access hole while holding the tab and get the bolts threaded easily. The other two, the smaller ones, were a PIA to get installed - no tabbed nut, no access whole. Took me a couple beers and a couple breaks when I'd get frustrated. Overall pretty easy though.

I have the reese one ( I think ) and it's not hidden, but most don't see it unless I tell them it's there
it took a while, but we drilled holes.

I had a garage do mine. Class 1 hitch + routing wiring for trailer lights. I don't rememeber what it cost, but it was similar to putting a hitch on and SUV. I bought a 4x 6 tractor supply lawn mower trailer for $400 w/an expanded metal deck - handy for bunge hooks. I welded up a rack to put the tires in.
Send me your email address and I'll send you some pictures.
It tows nicely and I've never had it over 90mph!

I've got a hitch for you
I've got a drawtite hitch and harness from my c5z with all the parts. Make me an offer. It's in good condition, and it's been taking up space for 3 years since I sold my car.

I have a drawtite hitch and receiver that I took off of my C5 that I am looking to sell...
Because I had aftermarket exhaust I took the rings off to secure the trailer to the hitch, but relocated them to the receiver itself. It is a nice alternative and does not rattle like before.
I am wanting $125 plus shipping if you are interested...

A guy I run with has one mounted on top of his rear frame, and the rear license plate folds down and you slide the receiver into it there.
It's the only 'hidden' hitch I've ever seen. Not sure who did it for him but it was a standard bolt-up hitch. Very clever really. Mine isn't real obvious but it's kind of funny when people do ask:
Why'd you put a hitch on that there corvette?
>> to pull my trailer
What kind of <snicker> trailer?
>> the one that carries my race tires <big grin>

Melting Slicks
Reese hitch
The Reese "Shadow" hitch for the C5 has a lot thinner (1/2 inch thick), somewhat wider reciever, and that is what you are looking for. They are hard to find since they stopped making them in late 1994.
I got one of the last ones and had to call all over the country to find it in early 95'. The nicest thing about them is that they fit up against the top of the exhaust recess and are pretty much invisible.
The Curt and DeLan hitches were cheaper, but are a lot more visible between the exhausts.
