Default Barber Grand Am GT race video LG Motorsports

Hi guys,

Here is the Barber motorsports park in car video with Eric Lux and Kelly Collins driving.

We had a driver hot foot problem and had to make a green flag pit stop twice and lost 2 laps. Other than that we were running top 6 for quite a while.

The transmission is the direct replacement EMCO Sequential that we were testing earlier in the year. Bolts between the torque tube and stock diff.

Enjoy the Video

thanks

Lou Gigliotti

whats a hot foot problem?
what sort of gearing does that thing have?
do you have to use the clutch or just push/pull lever?

The heat from the exhaust side pipes just in front of the doors, was putting extreme heat in the foot box area. in testing yesterday, the temp of the foot box was 185 degrees.

The driver literally burned his heel. So we got a Styrofoam cup and placed it in the driver shoe heel for his next stint and that helped.

We will have that problem fixed by VIR.

The gearing was a 373 Corvette diff with the EMCO Sequential transmission. The gearing in the transmission is very close ratio with a 5% overdrive 6th gear.

The computer uses a Strain gage on the shifter to sense when it is being pulled and it interrupts the spark for a couple of milliseconds to allow a flat - no lift shift.

No clutch necessary and no lift. Down shifts are normal needing a blip but the shift pattern is Pull back for up shifts and push forward for down shifts.

Thanks

Lou G

I am not sure but we think they touched another car then it got caught on some curbing.

It didn't affect the performance other than just some extra drag on the straight.

We have a lot to learn in this series. IT is racing 100% all the time.

No one gives you a break, and that is good for the racing.

Thanks
Lou G
