V8 StockCar Series @ Roebling this Weekend with Buc Region SCCA
The V8 StockCar Road Racing Series racers are headed to Roebling Road Raceway near Bloomingdale, Georgia for round three of the championship points series April 24 & 25. The series will be running with the Buccaneer Region of the SCCA at their annual Jim Stark Memorial Double SARRC event.
Roebling, a fun, but difficult to master 2.02 mile road course is a favorite of many stock car racers with it's technical back side and its' 2600 foot long front straight that allows the fastest cars to hit 170 m.p.h.
Expected back this year are V8 GT2 double winner Bob Mayer, in his Jax Beach, Crossroads Motorsport C6 Corvette, V8 GT-1 Champion Dave Machavern in his Heritage Motorsports Corvette and V8 GTA double winner from a year ago, Tony Amico in his Caddy's on the Beach Monte Carlo, as well as former three time NASCAR Dash champ & 2009 V8 SPO champ, Larry Hoopaugh in his HGC Monte Carlo.
The track record for the V8 GT2 class could be in peril from the man that already holds it. Bob Mayer recently blistered the track in a lap time of 1:12 and change, about a full second under his already fast class standard.
