I know of a GT-R driven by an advance class driver that is running RE-70s with race pads and with other mods like midpipe, catback and tune running mid 2:20s

It doesn`t equate with what you are doing but with no power steering, no computer, 1965 designed brakes, 1963 designed steering and 635hp....most laps in the 2:26 -2:28 range best lap of 2:25.0

I guess I should have been a little more specific. Mac McCombs is up there this weekend running his C5 with the HSR group.

I saw what Tucker and JB were running after I posted the question.

Yeah- those times are pretty damn fast!

Fastest C5 T1 times are Tom Sloe's 2:24.4. Most impressive C5 T1 time though, is when Lance Knupp turned a 2:24.949 back before we were allowed to remove cats and interiors and had to weigh 3280. It was 2007.

That was all with stock brakes, stock engine, stock exhaust manifolds, etc...

Now that we are permitted decent brakes this year on all Vettes, and headers on C5s, I imagine that times will drop.

Mac bought Lance's car and that's the one he has there.

At least he has a good benchmark, huh?

Mac will love Road America. Did he take a book to read on the long straights?

Well, he started in 30 something position, and 5th in class.

He ended the 2 hour race 2nd in class and 13th overall.

Heckuva a drive!
